7000apart has never written anything more radically honest or viscerally vulnerable than the songs on their new EP, Feel Your Feelings - Side A.
GREEN BAY WI / STOCKHOLM SE - Working with GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter FEMKE in Nashville, 7000apart’s Sophomore EP originates from a dark place while striving towards light, levity, and hope. The directive, “Feel your Feelings,” came from Jon’s therapist during one of his darkest and most tragedy-filled points in life. This seemingly simple sentiment began to inform the art that he and Amelie were making, their songwriting sessions culminating in a new EP filled with relatable lyrics, crystalline yet earthy vocals and pop driven organic guitar riffs. The whole album is deeply self-aware and speaks to humanity through the seriousness of mental health concerns, while simultaneously respecting the necessity of making friends with one’s darkness to usher in the light.
Amelie Eiding and Jon Kresin, are a married Swedish/American Indie-pop duo that survived the uncertainty of a three-year, 7000km apart, long-distance relationship by writing heartfelt pop songs together. When they were just teens, Amelie was a Swedish exchange student in Green Bay, WI and met Jon their senior year in high school; the chemistry was immediate and their connection strengthened through music. At the end of Amelie’s exchange program, their romance was tested by being forced into a long-distance relationship. The duo got married in 2016 and Amelie moved to the U.S. ready to pursue music full-time.
In 2018 they recorded their debut album in Sweden, We Are More, a project that was successfully crowdfunded by their fans; the album was released in 2019 with their fan-favorite single, Blank Check. After performing on Sweden’s Got Talent, garnering label interest and an anticipated U.S. tour, on the verge of breaking out in 2020, the pandemic brought the whole world to a halt. 7000apart kept writing songs, building their catalog, as well as an engaged online audience through streaming which garnered them a $20,000 Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of their new EP. Since then they have released six singles, won a Best New Artist Award from WAMI and Sweden’s Rocknallen 2021. Now, touring full-time, they've played over 140 shows around the Midwest and Sweden this year while also recording “Feel Your Feelings, Side A.” This hardworking indie pop duo feels fueled by their desire to help others by further destigmatizing mental health struggles through their music. With multiple upcoming radio, tv, and print features already scheduled before the end of 2022, this ambitious, international duo shows no sign of slowing down.

STAND TOGETHER
Written during the presidential election of 2020, Stand Together is a song about asking for help and being there for each other, especially during the really difficult times. Delicate but powerful vocals meet steady instrumentation and the harmonies together with beautiful ambience add a layer of comforting relief.
NO IS A NICE WORD
Combining catchy melodies of artist such as Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish with influences from the 2000s rock they grew up with. A break-up song featuring a groovy bass line and an electric guitar solo that expresses the need for clear communication and how sometimes, "no" can be a kind word.
HOPE
The debut single “Hope” is a song that was written in January of 2020 and became an anthem of mental health & self-care for the couple during the pandemic that followed. The song was recorded in a truly pandemic-era collaboration over the internet between Stockholm, Green Bay, and with Grammy Award winning Nashville-based producer, Femke.
WHOLE LOT LEFT TO LOSE
Inspired by "death bed (coffee for your head)" by Powfu and beabadoobee, they combine a catchy whistle hook & heartbreaking lyrics. 7000apart brings the playfulness of artists such as dodie and Jack Johnson, and honesty of Billie Eilish's latest releases.
Drawing from their own experiences with depression and anxiety, the song touches on the insecurities and uncertainties in life, including the ones just in our heads.
PLAYER 2
Whether it's a relationship with a partner, a friend, a parent or yourself, it's easy to feel not prioritized. With video-game ear candy and Femke's tasteful production the track rises and falls without ever falling flat. Ending with a quiet, heart wrenching chorus it's hard to not feel emotional.
END OF THE TUNNEL
The last track of Feel Your Feelings - Side A is a vulnerable but powerful ballad written during Eiding's depression. Accompanied by only piano and cello, the raw, emotional vocals really shine. A song about finding your way through darkness, hoping there is a light at the end.
